It was later run by ICRO, but gradually halted its activities over the past two years when its director’s commission came to an end. The institute was previously run by Nematollah Iranzadeh, the current professor at Tehran’s Allameh Tabatabaii University.
Major activities of the institute are to purchase and collect rare Persian manuscripts, to collect sources in Persian, Arabic, English and Urdu for further study by researchers, to keep in touch with Pakistan’s universities and centers that teach Persian language, to rewrite and correct old manuscripts, and to publish cultural productions.
