Its purpose is to study these languages and their literature with special emphasis on the cration works of Bosniaks in these languages, and examines the history, cultural history and Oriental art in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the time of Ottoaman administration, and also works on improvement of the scientific and professional personnel in the field of Oriental field, and cooperating with a similar institutions in the country and abroad, and publishes the results of their research through its publications.
